Fantastic Finish Of Foiling Race

49erFX, 49er, Men’s and Women’s RS: X, Formula Kite and Nacra 17 finished their competition week with Medal Races.


It happened in Stadium course, in front of St Kilda Sailing Precinct. During the entire competition there was a mix of breezes.

On Saturday, the foiling kite boarders were last to race and luckily team had the better of the conditions, the beautiful afternoon sunshine with 12-knot breeze. Those who had raced before foiling kite boarders faced tough time. They raced in shifting breezes of 6-7 knots.

Oliver Bridge participants from Great Britain took the lead of 14-point into three single-point. He shared his view about the race and said, “In first race plan did not turn into action, in upwind I wasn’t at my best and then I caught with something at windward second mark and it hit the deck. In realizing something hiccups on my foil I wasn’t in a position to get started again. Sailing enthusiast gets ready for hard yacht race to bring up money for new children’s hospice

A Flackwell Heath resident is getting all set to set off for a grueling yacht race to raise fund towards building a kids’ hospice. 65 year old Stephen Jones is getting ready to fly out to United States on 22nd April to join IchorCoal squad for 7th leg of Clipper Round the World Race, starting on 24th April, from Seattle to New York via Panama Canal as well as the Caribbean.
Broken into 8 legs and fourteen to sixteen individual races, the Clipper race that began in England on 30th August, previous year, involves twelve identical racing yachts, and each of them has a trained captain to safely guide the crew through the forty-thousand mile travel.
Mr Jones will be participating in the postulating race in the help of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, which is a charity assemble by Alexander’s parents, who was diagnosed with brain tumor aged 4 and he passed away when he was eight years old.
Now, the charity is working to construct and run a children’s hospice in the White Waltham that would alleviative care for kids in Berks and Bucks, respite care, backing for families as well as a community outreach team.
